Tips for Choosing Bridal Veils

This is your day! So the great thing about being a bride today is that anything goes! Whether you want to do everything traditionally or just choose the style that looks best and suits your personality. The following are a few tips to help you in making your decision.

Tips for Choosing Bridal Veils
  • Choose a simple veil and headpiece if your dress is very ornate.
  • Consider the back detail of your dress. If you want to show off the back of the dress, you may want to choose a short veil (blusher or elbow length) a veil with less fullness to it (72" width, pony veil, or the ballerina headband and side veil). If your gown is very simple, you may want a very ornate headpiece and or veil to attract attention to your face.
OR if your gown is very simple and your style is very simple and elegant, you may also want to wear a simple headpiece and or veil with minor details.
  • Be confident in your decision! Because you'll beam with beauty.
Caring for Your Veil

Take it out and hang it up immedietly when you first receive your veil in the mail. The only way to ship your veil to you is to box it which will cause it to first appear very wrinkled and unattractive. We recommend that you hang your veil from the center so that it will hang straight down. Most of the wrinkles should come out over time from just hanging however, if you don't have time or it's still too wrinkled for your taste, the following methods are for you:
  • Steaming the veil with a steaming iron
  • Hot shower method - steaming the veil by hanging it in the bathroom with a hot shower on for several minutes to steam up the room.
  • Dry cleaning - have an experienced bridal dry cleaner press or steam it.

Short and Medium Curly Wedding Hair

Curly wedding hair conjures up images of long curly hair coiled into an elegant updo and crowned with tiara and veil.

It can be like that. But it doesn't have to be. For one thing, up styles are not just for long hair. An updo for short or medium length hair, can be really gorgeous.

The curly wedding hair, is gathered in elegant braids at the back while, in classic curly updo style, strands have been left loose to frame the bride's face. Everywhere in this wedding hair style, the natural curly texture of the bride's hair is preserved, celebrated and shown off.

Curly wedding hair can also mean a short, naturally wavy hair style. Needing no adornment, this bridal hair style simple, beautiful and elegant, all at the same time.

Wedding Headband Choosing Tips

Headbands are a type of wedding headpiece that has a wire or plastic band that goes across the top of the head from ear to ear. They vary in width and most are simpler in style.

Bridal Headbands are a good choice for a wedding headpiece if you have chosen to wear your hair straight back and want a simple but sophisticate look.

Bridal Headbands can be a great wedding headpiece when worn with a veil attached directly to the back of the band or with a veil on a comb.

Bridal Crown Choosing Tips

Crowns are usually circular in shape and consist of floral or pearl designs that embellish the front of the headpiece.

The design does not usually go completely around the back side of the head, it just has a simple metal band that goes around the head. This band can be concealed by the hairstyle or by a veil.

Bridal Crowns are an excellent choice if you want a more traditional look. A smooth or controlled curl up do is perfect with a bridal crown.

Bridal Comb Choosing Tips

Simple in style and smaller in size, the decorative comb with a veil is a good choice for the bride who wants to keep her headpiece understated. These pieces are just a design with a comb directly behind the design.

There are no bands that go down the side or around the back of the head. This style is great for a bride with short hair or a long straight hairdo, as well as with up do's. Have your hairstylist experiment with anchoring the comb with two Bobbie pins crossed like an “old fashioned pin curl” where you want the headpiece to set.
