Tips for Maintaining Curly Hair

Curly hair should always be layered. If curls are unruly, apply hair spray to the palms and smooth over the hair’s surface. If hair is long or very curly, you can ‘straighten it’ with a large round or paddle brush, some straightening balm and a blower.

There are many hairstyles with curls because the curls append an extra touch to the hairstyles that cannot be duplicated. A drawback in hairstyles with curls is that the hair needs a lot of care.

• Light Wavy and Curly:

• Bohemian half-up braids:

For hair with a natural wave, use holding foam on wet hair then blow-dry with a diffuser. When dry, randomly curl sections of hair with a one-inch iron, then add two small braids along the hairline and bring them together and pin at the back. 

• Long Beachy waves:

Wrap sections of air-dried hair around a 1 ½-inch curling iron, holding each section for 15 seconds. Rub a shine serum between the palms of your hands and lightly lift the waves to your head. Avoid ‘scrunching’ as it can crush the wave. 

One should not feel that curly hair is a drawback because these days there are a lot of facilities like gadgets and hair care products to maintain your look. It is also important that if you’re going in for curly hair, it should complement your face.
